Service Logic Models (SLMs) are organized descriptions of what client services are provided by an organization and the various resources needed to support them. This information is usually formatted in a table that is easy to understand and to explain to others.
Why Develop Service Logic Models?
There are several reasons for developing service logic models (SLMs).
- Ensure consistency with agency mission/mandate, service goals, and philosophy of service delivery.
- Provide clarity for all stakeholders.
- Provide direction for service evaluation by identifying performance indicators.
- Inform planning and service development.
- Provide rationale for funding applications.
Who Develops Service Logic Models?
There is usually a board decision about the range of services and the profile of clients served by the non-profit organization. Then, the exercise is turned over to the management team.
